Pan-African Stories: Voices from the Capital

Kirubel Adinew
Ethiopia

A storytelling and cultural documentation initiative capturing authentic, unfiltered stories of everyday people in Addis Ababa.  Rooted in Pan-Africanism, ordinary people embody certain aspirations by preserving heritage and traditions with an aim to shape Africa’s future. Addis Ababa, as the seat of the African Union, is the ideal starting point to document these stories.

This initiative will benefit local communities, young Africans by connecting them to traditions, the African diaspora who’re seeking authentic roots, the world at large by offering genuine African narratives, and myself as I grow as a researcher and storyteller.
