ለትውልድ Letwlid Youth Empowerment Initiative
This is a youth empowerment initiative designed to support young people aged 18–24 in Ethiopia to overcome unemployment, trauma, and lack of direction through structured training, mentorship, and guided implementation support.
Youth in Ethiopia face interconnected challenges: high unemployment and underemployment, lack of business and employability skills, financial dependency, limited access to opportunities, low confidence and lack of self-promotion skills, exposure to violence and conflict-related trauma, lack of stability, mental health issues, peer pressure and substance abuse, along with lack of direction. These challenges do not exist separately — they reinforce one another.
This project aims to provide psychosocial support and economic empowerment in order to create a sustainable impact. Empowering youth strengthens entire communities and contributes to social stability and economic development. By helping young people build self-confidence, skills, and strong character through mentorship and structured support, the project seeks to break cycles of unemployment, dependency, hopelessness, and vulnerability.
